Certification Process

The certification process is designed to ensure that organizations meet the required standards and can consistently deliver high-quality products and services. Here’s a basic overview of the stages involved:

Stage 1

  • To evaluate the organization’s readiness for the full certification audit.
  • The audit team reviews the organization’s documentation, including policies, procedures, and records, to ensure that they align with the relevant standards and requirements.
  • Identification of any gaps or areas requiring improvement before proceeding to the full certification audit.

Stage 2

Objective: To assess the organization’s compliance with the certification standards.

  • The audit team conducts a thorough examination of the organization’s processes and practices. This includes interviews with staff, observation of operations, and a review of records.
  • A detailed audit report highlighting compliance, non-conformities, and opportunities for improvement. Successful completion of Stage 2 may lead to certification.

Stage 3

Objective: To address any non-conformities identified during Stage 2.

  • The organization is required to correct and address any non-conformities or issues noted in the audit report. This involves implementing corrective actions and providing evidence of these corrections.
  • Verification that corrective actions have been effectively implemented. The organization may be required to undergo a follow-up audit if significant issues were identified.

Stage 4

Objective: To ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.

  • Regular surveillance audits are conducted at planned intervals (e.g., annually) to monitor the organization’s adherence to the standards and to verify that improvements are sustained.
  • Ongoing certification status, with recommendations for further improvement as necessary.
